Cape Town!

We were given, very generously, by our family and friends, a Christmas gift that we will forever be able to treasure – the opportunity to take a family vacation to Cape Town.  We spent five days in ‘the Mother City’ as it is called by South Africans last week and had a fantastic time!

The weather was perfect, the family time was needed and we had a condo that was chosen because it was the only place that fit our family size and budget but ended up being beautiful and relaxing.  What follows is the reflections of our smallest family members on their journey.

Y: We picked rocks and shells on the beach.  I raced my dad in the pool.

This one will finally swim in the ‘deep’ end with waterwings!

D: I liked playing and seeing the penguins.  I like swimming at the beach with the penguins because it didn’t have so big waves and when you digged a hole it washed it away.

There were penguins swimming right beside us!

Y: The airplane was interesting.  There were signs with arrows showing you how to walk on the wings of the airplane.

D: We went up the mountain.  It was windy.  We saw a Dassie (groundhog thing-y) up there.

Y: The aquarium was fun, the best part was putting all the countries together on an African puzzle map with my dad.
